Amanda Fairweather is in her seventh season with Texas Ballet Theater. Originally from Orange, California, she began her training at the Academy of Dance under Merle Sepel and Rebecca Tsvkinm, then attended the State University of New York Purchase College, where she graduated cum laude. In 2011 she attended the Texas Ballet Theater School Summer Intensive and was asked to join the company as a trainee. Amanda has enjoyed performing the Romeo and Juliet balcony scene pas de deux as Juliet, Ben Stevenson’ s Dracula as a bride, Swan Lake as a swan and Jiri Kylian’s Petite Mort.

I saw my cousins dancing and told my parents I wanted to dance

A bride in Dracula and I loved being a swan in Swan Lake

How lucky we are to be able to do something we love as our job

I love horseback riding but I don’t get to do it anymore
