Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) employs Community Enrichment ballet instructors — to be enthusiastic ambassadors for the art form and professional representatives of TBT. Our CityDance Instructors introduce ballet to young students across the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, primarily 1st – 5th grades.
The goals of TBT’s Community Enrichment department are to enrich the lives of children by providing dance education, building awareness of the art form and growing a new generation of art enthusiasts. The Major Gift Officer is responsible for actively managing the strategic planning, solicitation process, direct communications and high-touch stewardship activities to acquire and retain donors within the DFW Metroplex.
The Major Gift Officer will specifically lead the solicitation process for a personal prospect portfolio of 125 – 150 mid-level major donors and prospects (each with a philanthropic capacity to contribute $10,000 – $100,000 annually) with the ultimate goal of increasing annual contributed revenue by approximately $500,000+ in the first year, building to $1.0 million+ annually over two years.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Development Director will manage Texas Ballet Theater’s Development team and lead all Future Fund, capital and other annual fundraising efforts in order to sustainably increase the financial resources available to Texas Ballet Theater. This individual will lead the ongoing strategic planning process that identifies development team goals as well as the specific strategies and action steps necessary to achieve such objectives.
